Adelard of Bath. Adelard, active in the early 12th century, is recognized for translating significant scientific works from Arabic into Latin, thereby introducing them to Western Europe. Adelard of Bath's Quaestiones Naturales is a collection of scientific and philosophical questions that Adelard compiled after his travels in the Islamic world.
